Questions about digital business cards

Short, direct answers — then the details.

What is a digital business card?

A digital business card is a web page that presents who you are professionally — name, role, company, contact details and links — and that people open from a link, a QR code or an NFC tap.

With Meishi Me, that page is your Meishi: a public professional profile at an address like meishime.com/p/your-name. It replaces paper cards, stays up to date, and lets the person you meet save your contact or share theirs back.

How does a digital business card work?

You create your profile once; you share its address by NFC tap, QR code or link; the other person's phone opens it in the browser and can save your contact in one tap.

The NFC tag and the QR code contain only the HTTPS address of your Meishi — never your personal details. Your information stays on Meishi Me, where you control it.

How do I create a digital business card?

Sign up at meishime.com, enter your name, title, company and the ways people can reach you, choose a design, and publish. It takes about two minutes.

You can refine everything later: photo, cover, accent colour, typography, sections, links, a booking link and a call to action. You can also create several Meishi for different contexts, such as a conference card.

Can I share a digital business card without an app?

Yes. The person you meet does not need any app: a Meishi opens in any modern phone browser from an NFC tap, a QR code or a link.

You can also send your link by text message or email, add it to your email signature, or keep a full-screen QR pass on your phone's home screen for events.

What is the difference between NFC and QR?

NFC opens your Meishi when a phone is held near a card or tag; a QR code opens it when the phone's camera scans it. Both lead to the same address.

NFC is the fastest gesture in person and works with most recent phones (iPhone XS and later read tags without an app; Android phones need NFC turned on). QR works with any camera and from a screen, slide or printed material. Meishi Me gives you both, plus the link.

How NFC sharing works

Can someone save my contact information directly?

Yes. Your Meishi has a “Save contact” button that downloads a standard contact card (vCard) the phone adds to its address book.

The vCard contains only the fields you made visible to that person. If they also use Meishi Me, you land in their My Network as well.

Can I control which personal information is visible?

Yes, field by field. Each field can be public, visible to your contacts, revealed only after someone shares their details with you, or private.

Private and exchange-only fields never appear on your public page, in search engines, in link previews, in structured data or in the public vCard. Search-engine indexing of your profile is off unless you turn it on.

Can I update my digital business card after sharing it?

Yes. Change your title, phone, company or photo at any time: everyone who opens your link, QR code or NFC tag sees the current version.

That is the point of a permanent address: the card you shared last year still works, and it is always current. If you rename your address, the old one keeps redirecting.

Can I use a digital business card in French and English?

Yes. Meishi Me is fully bilingual: the app, and your public profile, which can carry a French and an English version of your title and introduction.

Visitors see your Meishi in their language when a translation exists, and can switch language on the page.

How can businesses manage employee business cards?

With an organization: invite employees, apply a company template with locked fields, publish updates to everyone, view team analytics and deactivate cards when someone leaves.

Organizations can also provision users automatically with SCIM 2.0 (for example from Microsoft Entra ID or Okta). Employees keep their personal Meishi; only the company card is managed.
